R+A Lifestyler Interview with Dave Navarro

R+A Lifestyler Interview with Dave Navarro

I’m inspired all the time by people. People who are actually iving lives of romance and adventure, right now. Hearing their stories in first person narrows that gap between what we think is just a daydream and what is really possible. That is what this series, R+A Lifestyler Interviews, is all about. I hope each set of interviews in the weeks to come leave you with a dose of inspiration for how you can create a life of romance and adventure of your own.

Let me introduce to you Dave Navarro(he is @RockYourDay on Twitter). Dave is one of the greatest educators on the internet, in my opinion. I’ve gotten to learn about Dave from the student perspective. I’m enrolled in this awesome course of his, which is training me just how to turn my blog passion into a blog business. My dream life is much like your dream life: it involves doing what I do and earning a living from it. That’s one of the reasons I admire Dave, because he is doing just that. This interview will be especially valuable for you bloggers out there who, like me, are looking to turn their hobby into a lifestyle.

1. Dave, can you give us a quick scoop about the workshops you have just launched?

I’ve launched two workshops; Creating Products That Sell and Building a Responsive list.  The first is a step-by-step guide to figuring out what to create, how to create it and how to make it attractive to buyers; the second is a guide to building a mailing list of people who want to hear from you and want to buy from you.

2. One of the things I’ve found so impressive about you is that you have mastered this rare balance between being incredibly motivational and inspiring and ALSO incredibly helpful in a nuts & bolts, practical way too. Can you tell us a little about your background?

I started out as a personal development coach, so I understand the psychology behing getting people self-motivated to take action.   I’ve never had much time for “theory” – it’s always been “What can I do in the next 24 hours to improve things?”  Over time I became good at launching products, so other bloggers began coming to me asking for help, and my business kind of morphed into a marketing training business.

3. You just recently quit your job to dive into the Launch Coach business full time, right? What advice would you give to other folks who have a passion they’d like to pursue but are unsure how/if they can make a living from it?

Build it on the side.  Don’t try and get rich quick, just build it up layer by layer, month by month, until it becomes sustainable. One of the advantage of having a day job is that it limits your time and forces you into having to do only the necessary actions to keep things growing.  Be very selective about how you spend your time.

4. Here at MorganDayCecil.com my goal is to help my readers fall more in love with their life via living daily life with more romance and adventure. Nothing is more romantic or adventurous than starting your own business based on your passions.  I’m sure this journey towards working for yourself has been full of romance and adventure of all kinds– and also, many obstacles and challenges too. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart!  So, tell us, Dave, are you more in love with your life this year than you were last year?  ;) And who would most benefit from your upcoming workshops?

I am, mainly because my day job put way too many unnecessary constraints on my life.  The last year was tough, and I’m glad to be out.  But at the same time working for yourself isn’t paradise – it’s actually more challenging now because I have to make myself be even more disciplined and not get off-track.  But it is great being able to plan my work around my personal schedule, not the other way around.

The biggest benefit to my workshops is going to be to the up-and-coming business owner who wants to market their own information products but doesn’t want to buy into these $2000 programs on how to build your business … I offer just what the beginner needs to get off their butts, get moving, and start getting results.
